The Amazing Fitzroy Cast
“Welcome to The Fitzroy. You can take off your masks now. I’m Bernard. Pleased to meet you…”
Bernard is the loveable but clumsy bellboy played by our leading man Cerith Flinn.
Cerith is a real up and coming star, having appeared in ‘Strike Back’ and a number of exciting stage productions.
JAN ANDERSON – SONYA
“Don’t you see Bernard? What else can we do? You have to do it”
Sonya is a retired lounge singer played by our leading lady Jan Anderson. Sonya’s a true femme fatale, who isn’t afraid to use her sexuality to get what she wants. Deep down she has a heart, but can she be trusted?
Jan is a brilliant comic actress, having recently worked on ‘Trollied’ and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’…but is best known in the UK for 6 years on BBC’s ‘Casualty’ as nurse Chloe Hill!
KEN COLLARD – THE INSPECTOR
“The Inspector. From the council. Here to inspect the hotel”
The Inspector, played by Ken Collard, is a little man with a power complex. A fan of bureaucracy and stationary, he is wound too tight and likely to snap.
Ken is hugely talented and has had a great couple of years, recently appearing in the BBC comedy ‘Cuckoo’, as well as ‘Black Mirror’ and will soon appear in ‘The Muppets…Again!’
“No sea view, but you can sure hear it”
Cecil, the co-owner of The Fitzroy – the top dog – is played by David Schaal. With an eye for a deal and the other on the ladies, he’s a man not to be messed with.
David is a hilarious actor, having had a recurring role in two of the greatest UK comedies of modern times; The Inbetweeners and The Office.
“Please do not panic and stay where you are. Our bellboy will be right with you”
Mildred is the embittered, battle-axe landlady and co-owner of The Fitzroy hotel played by Carol Robb. Mildred is a woman not to be messed with, heck, she sleeps with a machete under her pillow!
Carol has been a revelation on The Fitzroy and is really one to watch.
Mr Thompson, played by David Gant, is mean, lazy and a little bored of the end of the world. He spends most of the time in bed, screaming through his megaphone.
David is a huge star of the screen, having appeared in little-known movies such as Braveheart, Brazil and Ghandi… oh and he’s hilarious!
“You dirty little civvy”
Captain Hunt, a pompous & loud military man, is played by Stuart McGugan. Although he calls himself a Captain, in reality he only ever made the rank of second lieutenant…he also loves to cross-dress with his pet chicken!
Stuart is right at home in the mad world of The Fitzroy, having been a regular in ‘It Ain’t Half Hot, Mum’.
“Don’t worry dear, it never works out in the beginning”
Mrs. Ellis is a sweet old lady played by Norma Cohen. Though sweet, Mrs. Ellis is no push over. She sees the post-apocalyptic world a bit like a retirement home.
Norma is lovable and a little crazy, so fits in perfectly in the world of The Fitzroy!
Dr.Lewis, the unhinged reclusive doctor, is played by James Hamer-Morton. The Doctor cares more about his collection of dolls than the Hippocratic oath!
James is a brilliant actor and comedian whose time we won through his own crowd funding campaign, ‘Bid for my life’.
“Darjeeling for my darling”
Mr Fisher is a newly-wed played by John Wark. He is on his honeymoon with his wife, and lets just say it’s not quite the romantic get away they were hoping for!
John blew us away in the casting and is a huge talent that can soon be seen in Alan Rickman’s latest film ‘A Little Chaos’.
“We’re on our honeymoon. Isn’t that right snookums?”
Mrs Fisher is the partner of Mr Fisher and played by Sarah Griffith. Mrs Fisher likes the finer things in life. Unfortunately in a post-apocalyptic world the ‘finer things’ can be hard to come by, just look at her husband.
Sarah is a hilarious comic actress and though American, you really wouldn’t have thought it!
Played by Ant Payne, Wilbur is … a… well… what can you say about Wilbur… he likes his cymbals!
Ant is brilliant and very well experienced in the submarine lifestyle, having starred in Andrew’s short film Sunk, set on the very sub we are shooting on. If you haven’t seen it already, check it out now: https://vimeo.com/41302343
“Boat man, boat man… take me”
Crazy Lady – and let us tell you, she lives up to her name – is played by Anne-Sophie Marie. She has a mysterious background and is not allowed on the Sub simply because she has no tea!
Anne-Sophie is well known to us from her brilliant work on Choke Mate. Check it out here. You’ll have to wait and see if her character has anything to do with the Crazy Lady in The Fitzroy… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDOgmH6Mn3A
