Director of Photography

The blogs are coming thick and fast this week.

We are very close to launching the Kickstarter campaign (tomorrow at 6pm if I haven’t mentioned it already?)

But the work on the film doesn’t stop or slow down! In fact it increases. As always the film is my main focus.

And with that in mind we have filled a huge piece in The Fitzroy jigsaw!

It gives me great pleasure to announce we have a Director of Photography. The one and only Ciro Candia.

Ciro hard at work.

Here’s a little bio on him.

Ciro has a great wealth of experience, having started out as Camera Loading on features such as ‘Gladiator’, ‘Hannibal’ & ‘Kingdom of Heaven’

‘I Think Therefore’ directed by Georgia King

‘Breathe’ Directed by Liam Garvo (the one and same who is co-producing The Fitzroy)

Ciro went on to DP films such as British crime feature ‘Cash & Curry’ (Best Feature at the Portobello Film Festival 2008), the short film ‘Where The Monsters Go’, (finalist at the Fuji Film Shorts competition in 2010) and ‘No Playground For Little Cowboys’ (Best Comedy Short at the Smalls Film Festival London 2012).

‘No Playground For Little Cowboys’ directed by Carl Rock

Ciro is also an experienced music video and commercial DP, having shot for brands such as McDonalds, Speedo, Nokia and Blue Square.

You should really check out Ciro’s website to see just a selection of his work.

I haven’t worked with Ciro before but he has a great eye for a cinematic image and really understands storytelling through the lens. He also has great experience, which is going to be invaluable during our tight shoot. I can’t wait to get started and see what he comes up with.

Over the coming weeks I’m going to try and get Ciro to do a little guest blog and fire some questions at him. So if you have anything you would like to know about life as a DP or what he has planned for The Fitzroy, just leave your questions in the comments and I will be sure to put them to him.

Oh and if you would like to see a little bit more on some visual references for The Fitzroy you should check out Inspiration and references (Part 1: Visuals)
